Karen Potter
Executive Chair and Higher Education Representative
Karen Potter joined Tri-County Technical College as senior director of strategic communication and engagement in 2020. In this role, she directs the College’s marketing, public relations, branding and communications efforts.
Prior to working at Tri-County, she served in communications roles at BMW Manufacturing and Prisma Health.
Potter serves on the boards of the Greenville Literacy Association, Clemson Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in communications from Marist College in New York. She has her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America and is a past president of the organization’s South Carolina chapter. She is also a graduate of Leadership South Carolina and of the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leaders Initiative.
