Responsibilities at Clemson:
Responsible for developing, leading and implementing an overall strategic community outreach & engagement plan that aligns with Clemson's strategic priorities. Act as liaison & representative of the Office of the President with senior administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside individuals & organizations in responding to requests. Work in partnership with the Office of External Affairs & other campus offices to establish strong local government & community relations strategies for the President and the university.

Julio is a first-generation high school and college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in International Business, with a minor in Pre-Law from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, and a master’s degree in Management & Leadership, with a minor in Human Resource Development from Webster University in Greenville. Julio is from San Antonio, Texas and is married to his wife, Melissa Palmer Hernandez, a Clemson alum.
