The City of Clemson Invites the Community to Two Park Celebrations 

The City of Clemson has been hard at work upgrading two local parks: Nettles Park and Dawson Park. They are ready to unveil their changes with two celebrations happening next week. Each event will include fun for the whole family and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. We hope that Clemson and the surrounding areas come out to enjoy the festivities! 


Celebrate Community and Play: The Grand Re-Opening of William Kilgore Playground at Nettles Park

The community is cordially invited to join the City of Clemson in celebrating the grand re-opening of the William Kilgore Playground at Nettles Park (102 Nettles Park Rd.) on April 24th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This much-anticipated event marks the culmination of extensive renovations to create a more inclusive, safe, and fun environment for children of all ages and abilities. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 pm.


The William Kilgore Playground has been a treasured asset of Nettles Park, fostering countless memories and moments of joy. Its revitalization includes new, state-of-the-art play equipment designed to engage children in imaginative and physical play and upgraded safety features that give peace of mind to parents and guardians.


In addition to the ribbon-cutting, the grand re-opening will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including a vision casting time capsule, and yard games. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and connect with community leaders and volunteers who have made this project possible. This event is a celebration of the playground’s physical transformation and a testament to the community’s dedication to happy and healthy families.

Celebrate the New Shelter and Restroom Facility at Dawson Park

Join the City of Clemson on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 12 pm-2 pm at Dawson Park (894 Old Stone Church Rd. Clemson, SC 29631), for the Community and Police Field Day in conjunction with the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Dawson Park Shelter and Restroom Facility. The official ribbon cutting is scheduled for 1 pm and will symbolize the dedication of this new facility to the public.


Attendees can look forward to yard games, exploring community organization booths, food, and gathering at the newly constructed picnic shelter. This family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbors, local police, and community leaders in a relaxed and joyful setting.
